The Hard Rock Hotel New York offers a prime location in Times Square, providing easy access to major attractions and entertainment. Guests consistently praise the friendly and attentive service, particularly from the staff, and appreciate the hotel’s stylish design and amenities. However, some reviews note occasional issues with room size, inconsistent service standards, and the addition of unexpected fees.
Four nights spent at the hotel, excellent location, very nice rooftop, nice rooms (not too small for NYC), very attentive staff. During a rainy day, they even let us take umbrellas (that we gave back) without hesitation. Great customer service! Overall a great experience even if one night (on Saturday) was a bit pricey ($950 with taxes).
Hotel is clean and elegant. Location is close to Times Square and many subway stations. Rooms are tight, but it was somewhat expected given the location. Do not stay here if you are with Accor. They do not recognize any status you have with Accor. When I brought up my confusion since I booked with Accor, the front desk rolled their eyes. They told me Accor is the problem and that they can have a manager come over to repeat to me that the Accor status does not mean anything. In the middle of my stay I was sent a message that asked what benefits I had originally expected to receive to see if any accommodations could be made. After giving a list, there was no follow up or acknowledgement to my response. At least telling me that they are unable to accommodate would have been appreciated. If you come in late at night, make sure to have your room key in hand. Multiple nights I had security yell at me to leave while I searched for my key in my purse. They may have a problem with unwanted guests entering. Overall, the environment was unwelcoming and the staff seemed to lack the ability to problem solve . Also, the staff seemed to know that Accor does not disclose that there is a destination fee ($40 per day) during booking and still failed to communicate this fee during check-in. When I asked about the charge the front desk was more than happy interrupt me to blame Accor, remind me that they are not Accor, and tell me they can bring a manager over to tell me I have to pay it. I do not recommend this hotel and would urge Accor to cut their partnership as this location does not meet the luxury brand standards or expectations.
I booked this hotel to be close to touristy area taking my kids for the first time to the Big Apple. The rooms were so clean, the beds are comfy and the noise was almost non-existent at night. But what made this hotel stand out so much for me was the staff. The staff were all so incredibly kind and nice. Drake one of the Valets was so incredibly kind and helpful and it was so appreciated while we navigate a scooter for my husband with a foot injury. I hope management reads this and give the staff much acknowledgement because they made the stay fantastic and I'll remember this returning next year and telling anyone who is visiting.
Highly recommended for its amazing location in the heart of Times Square. The hotel is on the corner of Times Square, and almost everything is within walking distance. The room furnishings were amazing, and we had a partial view of Times Square: - Welcoming (9/10) - Luggage service (9/10) - Room service (8/10) - Room (8/10) with a partial view of Times Square. The furnishings were amazing, and the room was comfortable and well designed. Overall, it was a very good stay and a great choice for anyone who wants to be close to the main attractions, restaurants, shops, and entertainment in Times Square.
I paid in full for three days through Expedia. Upon arrival they told me there’s a $100 day hold which I understood and had no issue with. They ran my card for $300 at check in. The issue came the day of check out when they decided to charge my card an additional $375 “accidentally” that was a huge inconvenience as I had to pay that amount for parking down the road. When I explained they needed to give me my money back immediately because I needed to take my loaner car out the parking lot they told me there was nothing they could do and I had to wait 7 business days. Mind you this was a Friday. I was extremely upset because they put me in a position I should have not been in. I am glad I did not park with them or I would never no money to get the car out as their parking is $85/night. Their food was not impressive at all unfortunately. The rooms were great and their service four rooms was great. Nice spot to be if you were doing lots of walking on the main streets. Other than that I have had better experiences elsewhere not sure if I would come back to this hotel. That one mistake caused me to feel a certain way of how they run business.
The room was nice and the hotel is beautiful but the front service, room service, guest service is TERRIBLE! The personal talk with super bad attitude. They also charged my card for the breakfast when it was already included and when I called about the girl that assisted me on the phone was very unprofessional. Not the service I was expecting from a so expensive and prestigious hotel. Also the location is not very convenient if you want to rest as there’s too much noise in the morning
Nice stay overall. We stayed here while it was snowing, and it was super warm once we got inside. The staff were really nice and always greeted you when you got into the elevator with a “Happy Monday” or “Good Wednesday!” The rooms, I would say, are pretty standard—even with an Amex upgrade. We specifically asked months in advance for a room with a nice view, but instead got one with a vent right outside the window and very low down, even though we requested a higher floor. Rooms also look much bigger and spacious on the website compared to real life Food and room service were quite slow, fairly basic, and very expensive for what it is. Overall, it’s a nice hotel in a good location and great for pictures.
My family and I stayed at Hard Rock Hotel NYC in February 2026. We were originally booked for 4 nights but had to extend our stay for an additional 3 nights due to our flights being cancelled because of the big blizzard. We loved our stay! The rooms were modern and comfortable. There were cool rock details in the hotel room. The location cannot be beat - close to Time Square, Broadway, Rockefeller Plaza, Radio City Music Hall, etc. The staff were very genuine, friendly, attentive, and went out of their way to ensure we had a great stay!
We had a great experience at the Hard Rock. I had to knock off a star due to the fact that I specifically chose this hotel for the two queen beds but that is not what I got. Their queen beds are double beds. I guess it’s a New York thing?? We absolutely loved the location. Walkable to so many places. The roof top bar is amazing. There is a heated outdoor enclosed area to lounge and enjoy the rooftop all winter. The room was clean and modern. Housekeeping did an amazing job keeping everything clean and replenished including complimentary bottled water.
We stayed at the Hard Rock Hotel for a week in early January. This place is fantastic. The staff were very welcoming, rooms were warm and inviting and the location is outstanding. We travelled as a family of 4 and found the whole experience wonderful. The minute we got out of the car and the staff member immediately helped us with our bags and helped us get settled. The food at the restaurant was also very good and reasonably priced for the location. If you are looking for a perfect spot to stay in New York with dedicated staff and clean rooms, this is it. It was also a nice touch to have the staff at the first floor desk always say good morning or offer help each day, brought a very kind and welcoming vibe to the whole trip. Hopefully we will return soon, however it’s a long trip from Australia!!
