The Hampton Inn Manhattan/Times Square Central offers a convenient and generally positive experience for travelers, particularly those seeking a comfortable base for exploring New York City. While rooms are compact, the location is superb, and the staff are consistently praised for their friendliness and helpfulness. However, some guests note elevator wait times and potential noise concerns, particularly during peak breakfast hours.

My son and I stayed here for Fanatics fest. It was our first time in NYC and we didn’t know what to expect. First off, the staff was great. Everyone we interacted with was kind, helpful, attentive, and polite. Big shout out to the bell man, Eddie, who took great care of our luggage and helped us secure a car for the trip back to the airport. He was amazing. The room was clean upon arrival. Obviously NYC hotels are going to be smaller than what I’m used to because of how the city is built and structured but that was fine. We were out all day so the room did what was needed. It was clean and organized. We got a city view room and loved it! Great view!! The breakfast had an egg, meat, and potato option each day with muffins, fruit, and waffles as well. Huge help and money saver there! Awesome location close to some great food spots, Times Square and Subway stations. Off a quiet street as well so didn’t feel as chaotic around it as other streets. Amazing value and would for sure stay there again.

We had a wonderful stay and the front desk, security and everyone we encountered were exceptional. The rooms were small, but clean and comfortable for our family of 4. Shout out to Brian at the front desk for the many recommendations and help with navigating the public transportation. Although the location seemed a bit alley like, it was great to get around and access all of the great spots Manhattan had to offer. Only suggestion would be to get to breakfast prior to 830am, it gets busy the closer you get to 9am.

Overall an okay experience with some notable issues. The rooms are dated but clean, and if you're on a higher floor, be prepared to wait longer for elevators. The lobby and floors were also clean, and the staff throughout was very friendly. Breakfast has a good variety of options, but vegetarian choices are very limited and there's nothing vegan even the waffle batter contains eggs, so keep that in mind if you have dietary restrictions. The breakfast seating area is also quite small and gets really crowded, which felt like it could be a safety issue at times. On the maintenance side, we ran into several problems: a broken desk (I could easily have gotten hurt on it), no hot water in the shower, a hanging drainage stopper in the tub, and a broken toilet paper holder that never got fixed despite reporting it. When we flagged these issues, the manager did take immediate action and offered to move us to another room but the alternative was on a lower floor with a much worse view, so we chose to stay put. One tip: if you want an unobstructed view, ask for a room on the 26th or 27th floor or higher. The rooftop is also a nice feature. Brian at the front desk was great and genuinely helpful throughout our stay. Given the maintenance issues and limited food options for those with dietary restrictions, there's definitely room for improvement, but the location, cleanliness, friendly staff, and rooftop are all pluses.

Being a first time visitor to Newyork i really enjoyed the stay here. The service was amazing and the location is absolutely perfect for visiting near by places and restaurants. Breakfast is a reasonable spread and nothing to complain about. I would suggest this hotel to anyone for sure. Staffs were much accommodating and friendly. Best place to stay with family. The only disappointment is waiting time for lift but that is a real problem only during peak time ( may be around 10am)

Really nice hotel. We had a great experience from start to finish. Miriam at the front office who checked us in, Clifton on the door who was always very welcoming and Roberta who cleaned our room. Everyone was super friendly, kind and helpful. We got some great recommendation for local foods and restaurants. The breakfast had a wide selection from cold and hot. I especially enjoyed the waffles. Nice tea and coffee station available all day in the lobby. The bed was incredibly comfy, we slept great. Highly recommend this hotel.

We stayed at this hotel for 10 days. The best thing about it is definitely the location — right in the heart of Times Square, with a subway station and a market right in front of the hotel. The bed was big and comfortable, and the front desk staff were always friendly, kind, and available to help. Check-in and check-out were also very easy and smooth. On the negative side, the elevators are chaotic — yes, you may end up waiting 30 minutes for one. The breakfast is American-style and decent, but the space is way too small for the number of guests. The shower water pressure was also weak. Overall, considering everything, it’s an okay hotel for people who have patience.

This hotel hosted my high school group of 25 and did an amazing job! The rooms were spacious, clean, and well maintained. Breakfast had a variety of choices and was kept very well stocked. Location could not be better-extremely convenient to the Times Square/42nd St. subway station and Port Authority stations, so you can get anywhere you’d like to go very easily. All the staff I interacted with were very helpful and friendly. I always choose to stay at Hilton brand properties whenever possible and this location really shone a spotlight on the reason why. Very highly recommended; would definitely stay here again by myself or with a group.

Very well located hotel near Times Square, with the subway right next door for getting around. Affordable rates for Manhattan. The entire staff — from the night guard, to the receptionists, housekeeping, and the breakfast team — everyone was very friendly and welcoming. I stayed there from February 18th to 21st for my daughter’s Sweet Sixteen. The staff prepared a lovely surprise for her upon our arrival, and we were truly touched. Thank you again to the team for that thoughtful attention. We totally recommend this hotel and will definitely come back.

Fast check in and check out. Even though the hotel is high rise there are three very fast elevators so there was no inconvenience. The interior feels recently renovated and very clean. Minor downsides are slightly low water pressure and a somewhat noisy heating system but at this price it is hard to find a better hotel. Excellent breakfast and outstanding value for the price.

My recent stay at the Hampton Inn Manhattan/Times Square Central was absolutely wonderful, and a big part of that experience was the incredible staff. From the moment we arrived, Bellman Sonnie stood out for his hard work, professionalism, and genuine kindness. He was always moving, assisting guests with a smile, handling luggage efficiently, and making everyone feel welcomed. No matter how busy the lobby was, Sonnie remained attentive and courteous, going above and beyond to ensure our comfort. His positive attitude truly set the tone for our stay. At the front desk, Eddie provided exceptional service. He was friendly, patient, and extremely helpful with every question we had. Whether it was check-in, local recommendations, or special requests, Eddie handled everything with efficiency and warmth. His professionalism and welcoming personality made us feel valued as guests. The hotel itself is in a fantastic location near Times Square, clean, comfortable, and well-maintained—but it’s the dedication and kindness of team members like Sonnie and Eddie that truly make this property special. I highly recommend this hotel and look forward to staying here again. Thank you to Sonnie, Eddie, and the entire team for making our trip unforgettable! Renate Browne & Family!
