Located steps from Times Square, this hotel offers an unbeatable location and a generally well-ranked breakfast, though guests consistently note small rooms and some elevator wait times due to high traffic.
Very well located hotel near Times Square, with the subway right next door for getting around. Affordable rates for Manhattan. The entire staff — from the night guard, to the receptionists, housekeeping, and the breakfast team — everyone was very friendly and welcoming. I stayed there from February 18th to 21st for my daughter’s Sweet Sixteen. The staff prepared a lovely surprise for her upon our arrival, and we were truly touched. Thank you again to the team for that thoughtful attention. We totally recommend this hotel and will definitely come back.
My recent stay at the Hampton Inn Manhattan/Times Square Central was absolutely wonderful, and a big part of that experience was the incredible staff. From the moment we arrived, Bellman Sonnie stood out for his hard work, professionalism, and genuine kindness. He was always moving, assisting guests with a smile, handling luggage efficiently, and making everyone feel welcomed. No matter how busy the lobby was, Sonnie remained attentive and courteous, going above and beyond to ensure our comfort. His positive attitude truly set the tone for our stay. At the front desk, Eddie provided exceptional service. He was friendly, patient, and extremely helpful with every question we had. Whether it was check-in, local recommendations, or special requests, Eddie handled everything with efficiency and warmth. His professionalism and welcoming personality made us feel valued as guests. The hotel itself is in a fantastic location near Times Square, clean, comfortable, and well-maintained—but it’s the dedication and kindness of team members like Sonnie and Eddie that truly make this property special. I highly recommend this hotel and look forward to staying here again. Thank you to Sonnie, Eddie, and the entire team for making our trip unforgettable! Renate Browne & Family!
My experience while at this hotel was very pleasant. The convenient location, walking distance to everything, and close proximity to one of the bus stations was fabulous. Rooms were clean and comfortable, and in true NYC fashion-very small. Which we expected; but didn’t think ahead about where our suitcases would store in the room. We got creative and it worked out. I wouldn’t necessarily pay extra for a city view even if you get a high floor though, you’re just looking at the back of other buildings on the street. Being able to leave your luggage before check in and after check out is a huge plus. We felt very safe the whole time we were here. Continental breakfast was just that, nothing special but does the job and saves some money.
My family stayed in this hotel for 5 days in February for son’s High School Honors Band performance in Carnegie Hall. This was the most affordable hotel in the area. One block from it is the Times Square. We were able to navigate the city by subway, there is station right by hotel on 42st. Rooms were small but it’s understandable given the density of NYC. Free complimentary breakfast was a great day to start each day and complimentary coffee/tea/hot water in lobby was great. There is no microwave in a room, if you need to heat up anything, there is one in the lobby. Overall very satisfied with the stay and will definitely consider to stay again next time visiting NYC.
Amazing hotel! I don’t expect much when I get to NYC and am used to tiny rooms and ambivalent service. This hotel exceeded our expectations—clean, well located, etc. but the best part was the service. The staff truly went above and beyond during our stay. Everyone was kind, helpful, and pleasant. They went above and beyond to welcome our kids, help us get a taxi, explaining things, etc. We will return!
My stay at the Hampton Inn/Times Square was outstanding. The staff was so friendly and helpful. The room was very cozy and super clean. Morning breakfast was a plus. Location of this hotel is a homerun. Perfectly located to everything. Highly recommend this hotel.
We booked 5 nights in NYC during NYE. The Hilton Honors app is a joke. When I booked I specifically requested an Urban room, paid extra for a "city view" and chose a room on the app I was very happy with. Our room was not ready at check in time and I was given a completely different room...an upper level room and I had to be a nag about the city view part. Pre-check in on the app is a joke as well, we still had to stand in line for check in. We were given 2 lousy bottled waters for a 5 nite stay. $500+ a nite and we couldn't get a bottled water a day? There was a constant loud humming the entire time we stayed. We thought it was wind at first, but it was loud even on non windy days. The first night we were startlingly woken by a call at almost 2am by the front desk asking about a "order for Rohan"....no one in our room by such a name. There was a drawer that was broken in the room, it stuck out and we hit our legs on it a few times. There food and water to buy in the lobby, but no utensils to eat the food. The location is pretty good, as well as the complimentary breakfast. Hotel staff was nice for the most part...Some weren't so great. One time getting on the elevator I had my card in my hand and was about to swipe my card to press my floor, a male employee jumped on stuck his fob in my way and pressed his floor, like i wasn't even there. It was completely rude. Sorry to say, but this will be our last stay at this hotel.
We enjoyed a wonderful 3 night stay here. The staff was very helpful especially the young man who ordered a car for my departure. Very helpful. The rooms are clean and quiet. I enjoy staying here when we come to NYC. Thank you , HI. We had a memorable time and we walked everywhere.
First stay and would definitely return. Great location, quiet street, good room size and breakfast was nice. Elevators could be an issue especially in the morning and early evening. Only real complaint was housekeeping. Only had it twice and stayed for 7 nights! Some mornings we left the room and the maid was literally next door to our room and when we returned at least 6 hours later our room still wasn’t done. By that time we were tired and just dealt with it but still disappointing. Overall would recommend but housekeeping definitely needs improvement.
First time staying here and it was great! We checked in around 10 am. Our room wasn’t ready, but that was okay because we left our luggage and went to Times Square. An hour later, we got a notification saying our room was ready! Room was perfect. High floor, nice view, just as we requested it. Breakfast was also amazing! Staff was friendly and helpful! Location is great too!
