Great choice!

Me and my mom had a 6 night stay in the Amsterdam Court hotel. Overall we had a great experience! The room was really nice and clean and the beds were very comfortable. Also I have to say that it was amazing how little outside noise there was even though its pretty much on Broadway next to time square! Which by the way is an amazing location!!! The staff was very friendly and were always available for questions. The only thing that is a little less positive was that we didn't really have a view but it doesn't really matter since you probably won't spend much time in the room during your stay. I can't tell anything about breakfast because we decided to have breakfast in the city.

Don't fall for the false claims on their website. Look elsewhere for a hotel

Very disappointed in this hotel. From the check-in, where the front desk person offered an "update" which was anything but--a "fast one" to give us a tiny unsatisfactory room. Advertised coffee maker was not there, not a water cup in the room, bathroom the size of a postage stamp, towel rack about to fall off the wall, threadbare towels, A/C that barely worked and when it did, was blowing right on one bed, dirty sheets, dingy hallways--overall, a dump.

A base

This hotel is a relatively good price in a central location. 7 floors. Rooms small but a good enough base. It’s just off 50th and 8th Avenue, close to Times Square and Broadway. No refreshment facilities in the room but free and available on the lower ground floor. Reception staff helpful if requiring info on how to get to places. Subways at either end of the street a minutes walk from the hotel. A bar and restaurant attached to hotel. Next door is a gentleman’s club, then a private shop. Across the road is the Gershwin theatre. Just FYI prostitution is high in the area.

Short stay in New York

Hotel location is half a block from Broadway within the theater district. Close to the subway, short walk to Time Square and easy walk to all locations such as Hell's Kitchen and Manhattan/Grand Central Station/5th Avenue and Central Park. Bed was so soft you sunk into when sleeping, no fridge in the room(room 627) was initially checked into the wrong size room (511) this was a double room no a queen room and the noise from street level (on same street as theaters) was bad at 4pm. No in house breakfast avialable and limited dining options within the hotel

Horrid. Do not recommend

Trash hotel, tiny rooms, broken elevators, no breakfast, unfriendly staff. We had to pay extra to upgrade to a slightly bigger room. Falsely advertised by the way. One elevator was broken so staff and construction crew were taking over it the entire time. No breakfast even though it clearly stated there was.
