Excellent Thoroughly Recommend

Once again, I am going to rave about The Pearl Hotel. It’s been four years since our last visit and this place is still special. First of all was the front reception and the great service and treatment when we arrived. I’d booked the hotel on the Internet two days before our arrival. When I did the booking, I was unable to book the same room for our entire stay, just came up that there were no rooms available. Turns out that by fiddling around with the dates & rooms I was able to get accommodation for our 8 day stay. I’d booked the Deluxe Queen Suite for the first night and the Deluxe King Suite for the rest of the stay. When we arrived at the hotel, Reception were able to work their magic and give us the Deluxe King Suite for the entire stay, as opposed to having to switch rooms after one night. Fabulous service. Best of all – no extra charge. Great location, close to Time Square, close to Subway stations, close to loads of restaurants. Our Deluxe King Suite was just the ticket; the extra room with the lounge area was much appreciated, especially when ours was an 8 day stay. Fabulously comfortable bed, great linen, very clean. All the staff are fabulous – they couldn’t be more helpful, nor do enough for us. Big shout out to Francesco (who definitely gets an Employee of the Month award from me) and Manuel and Juan. Always pleasant, always smiling. Other friends of ours were staying at the Edison – which they didn’t like; and were envious that they weren’t staying at our hotel. We’ll definitely be coming back to the Pearl next time we are in New York.

Perfect Location. Great for families

Stayed here for 4 nights with my husband and 3 children. We had a Delux Suite with 2 Queen beds and a pullout sofabed in the sitting area, perfect for our family of 5. Room was a good size, plenty of space for us all. Hotel is only a couple of blocks away from Times Square, within walking distance to all the main attractions. Staff very friendly and our kids loved the snacks and fruit that were always available in reception along with the iced water. Complimentary wine in the evenings too whuch myself and my husband enjoyed. We would definitely stay here again if we were to return to New York.

Well Situated and Comfortable

The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was very nice. There were slippers, bathrobes and a hairdryer. There is a fridge but no minibar. Close to Time Square. The only poor experience was the restaurant attached to but not part of the hotel. The servers were very nice and so was the manager. There is a problem in the kitchen. The first breakfast they had trouble getting my wife's order correct (the manager comped her meal). The second breakfast we waited well over an hour to get our food (the manager comped the entire meal). On the bright side the food tasted good.

Great Customer Service - Good Location - No Surprises

Let's look at the Pros first: Great Location - close to Times Square, 1 minute from Subway stop, Great Staff - pleasant, helpful, always available, asked for more towels, asked for help with TV, offered upgrade as room became available Snacks in the lobby available on check in/check out - chips, fruit, lemon water Wine Reception at 5 - didn't partake, but second floor guest lounge has more snacks, fruit, tea & coffee and space to hang out and use WiFi / work Vending machine for snacks and water - so you don't have to pay $8 for the water in room -you get 15% off at the restaurant next door (didn't go but it was busy during check in time) Rooms- clean- hairdryer & iron/board available L'Occitane shampoo & conditioner - but hopefully you don't use these small bottles and bring your own Good sized tv (tv in washroom too - but didn't use it) Black out curtains - but can't keep out all the noise a Few Cons Room is small - as is the washroom- standard size regular tub Not a fan of all those decor pillows on the bed (for sanitary reasons) - gym is very limited - didn't use it but there were only a small number of machines -noise from street - typical NYC fire engines & stuff - so cannot confirm other reviews about rooms where you cannot hear the street noise -small bottles shampoo/conditioner -- switching to large bottles /pump stations would be preferred (although always a risk I guess)
