New Year's Eve Bucket List

My husband and I went to NYC to check one off the bucket list by seeing the ball drop in person on NYE...what a perfect experience! We had a queen room on the 3rd floor and Jamie at the front desk was able to check us in at noon on the date of arrival. Hotel room was small and no view, but who cares, we were not there to sit in our room. All the front desk employees were super accommodating...even spoke with the General Manager, which asked how things were going. Air conditioner was loud as other have mentioned, they provided ear plugs if needed, but for me, it was perfect I did not need to use a white noise app during the night. Room was really clean and everything in working order. Hotel is in the PERFECT location for sight seeing/walking Times Square/Broadway areas. Rates were higher because of NYE, but nothing like the others I checked. So if location and hospitality is what you are looking for, not room size, this is the place for you!

Ok for a short stay

Booked for a few nights to start our NY trip. We booked a Queen room and whilst clean it wasn’t as it looked on the photos, it was very basic and made us feel we were staying in a hostel. The aircon/heater was very loud. However, the bed was very comfortable so we did sleep ok. It’s a perfect location to explore Times Square. Upon checking out we said we was going to have breakfast so asked if we could leave our bags. It was at this point reception asked us if we wanted a voucher for breakfast! Three nights stay and no one had informed us on check in that breakfast was included!! This was disappointing.

Not professional

I stayed at November in 4 days. I really wanted to move to another hotel but can not because I paid all expenses through Agoda. The staff was rule and not friendly even General Manager even they ignored my emails before and after using hotel. I called many time and many time...but they promised to call back and no one did it. My card was pending 45 days of releasing and the bank said that your staying hotel was not void or released them. I really advise everyone to consider to use this hotel. Good bye.

Hotel Shocard’s Jamie made our trip!! My girlfriend (before we got to NYC), now fiancé (in the middle of our trip) and I were looking for a central hotel in the middle of all of the craziness. Hotel Shocard’s location is unbeatable! Sure, the room wasn’t very large and we kept most of our clothes in our suitcases, but that’s going to be anywhere in NYC. Jamie went above and beyond when I told him I was proposing to my girlfriend in the middle of our trip. He went as far as to leave rose petals on our bed the night of me proposing! The restaurant in the hotel had great choices for all of your meals also!

The site photos are nothing like what our room was! The location was great for walkers! However the room even though we were barely in it was beyond tiny. The bed barely fit both of us. There was a light directly above your head in the bed that if you are not careful you will literally hit your head on. The shower barely worked and leaked all over the bathroom floor with little to no ventilation so it stayed wet the entire trip. The towels they recommend reusing to prevent waste pretty much could not be used because they stayed soaking wet. The window looks directly to another building so you can not see out AT ALL. Our ac unit barely worked which we needed even though it was snowing outside due to how tiny the room was. It felt claustrophobic to stay it for extended periods of time. We stay in boutique style hotels in New Orleans often which is why i was completely for staying there rather than a large chain. However this was not worth the money and had zero frills or much character. Very disappointed for the money. Maybe we were given the worst room in the place? I’m unsure but if all rooms are similar then DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY. Spend $100 more and stay at the Hampton down the street like we will next time!
