We stayed here for five nights while visiting NYC. Excellent location just a block or two from Times Square. We were walking distance or a short subway ride to most places we wanted to visit. We stayed in a suite w/ separate den area. Room was huge for NYC, w/ a full kitchen. Appears to be converted apartments and some details could be improved, but great overall. Limited interaction w/ staff but everyone was friendly and helpful. We stayed on the 9th floor. Other than an occasional siren or motorcycle, the room was quiet. Lower floors may be noisier and you're near Times Square so there's going to be noise. The upper terrace and lounge area was nice, but pastries were gone each morning by the time we arrived and they were out of coffee one morning. Very small gym but everything was clean and functional. Overall, had a great say and would recommend.

We stayed at this hotel for 9 nights. The location is excellent, with easy access to public transportation and major attractions. The room was equipped exactly as advertised, including a kitchen, washing machine, and dryer, which was very convenient. The hotel was also clean throughout our stay. The staff deserve special recognition. The two employees at check-in and the housekeeping team were exceptionally kind, professional, and genuinely helpful. They made us feel welcome, and we are truly grateful for their hospitality. The issues I mention below are clearly management and investment decisions, not the fault of the staff. Unfortunately, the biggest problem was the noise. Our room had three windows facing outside, at 6th floor, yet they provided almost no sound insulation. In 2026, properly insulated windows should be a basic standard for any hotel. Replacing them would significantly improve the guest experience without requiring a major investment. The air conditioning units are also outdated and extremely noisy. If you turn them off, the room quickly becomes too warm. If you leave them on, they add even more noise. As a result, we spent nine nights constantly waking up and struggled with poor sleep throughout our stay. We were so exhausted that we often found ourselves dozing off during the day while sightseeing. Another disappointment was breakfast. The hotel advertises complimentary coffee along with croissants and pastries between 7:00 and 11:00 a.m. While coffee was usually available, the pastries were almost always gone. During our nine-night stay, we saw the breakfast fully stocked only once, and on two or three mornings there were just one or two pastries left. On the remaining days, the trays were empty, which clearly suggests that the hotel does not provide enough for its guests. The single bed was also extremely uncomfortable. It was an old spring mattress, and the springs could be felt through the mattress, making it difficult to get a proper night’s sleep. Finally, I found the check-out reminders unnecessary and unprofessional. The 11:00 a.m. check-out time was already clearly communicated during the booking process and again at check-in. Slipping a reminder under the room door and then sending an additional SMS about the same information felt excessive and unnecessary. Overall, this hotel has great potential because of its location, cleanliness, in-room amenities, and wonderful staff. However, the poor sound insulation, outdated air conditioning, uncomfortable beds, inadequate breakfast, and lack of attention to the overall guest experience significantly affected our stay. Unless these issues are addressed, I would not choose to stay here again.

Having a room with space in NYC is rare and the suites here are enormous and beautifully decorated. The staff goes out of their way to make sure every need is met. The hotel is walking distance to Times Square, Fifth Avenue and the theater district.

We stayed at AKA Times Square for 7 days at the beginning of April. Absolutely loved our stay there! The front desk crew, the doormen and the housekeepers were all so friendly and gracious. We had a two bedroom on the 11th floor. Our windows basically looked at the walls of neighboring bldgs but we honestly didn’t care because the accommodations were so wonderful. We were with our teen granddaughter and she loved having her own room. Having a washer & dryer was a huge bonus. There is a theater on each side of the bldg. We walked next door to the Belasco Theater to see Maybe Happy Ending. So good! The heart of Times Square is steps away. This was our third trip to NYC but first time staying at AKA. Hands down this was our favorite place we’ve stayed & will be our first choice for any future trips.

My family stayed here for six nights! We stayed in the penthouse 2 bedroom and a premium 2 bedroom--- loved both. The penthouse was huge and had the best shower/bath combo (and the bathroom itself was bigger than most nyc hotel rooms!) and plenty of room to rest after long days. The premium 2 bedroom seems like it was just redone and was laid out so well. It was fantastic to have a kitchen and washer/dryer the whole time. The rooms were quiet despite being able to see some of the lights from time square. We were able to see so many shows (easy to get rush tickets right outside the door!) and walk or take a quick subway ride to almost everywhere in the city. While times square itself is daunting, you are also a block and a half from bryant park (with a great whole foods!) and walkable to central park and museums. This hotel doesn't have jaw dropping views or a fancy lobby, but it is in a great central location and has generously large, clean, and affordable rooms.

We had a wonderful stay at the hotel, but what truly made the difference for us was Cesar. From the very first day, he treated us as if we were the only guests in the hotel. He was always attentive, warm, and genuinely empathetic, making sure every detail of our stay was taken care of. He went above and beyond to help us with all our needs and gave us excellent recommendations around the city, which made our experience in New York even better. The hotel itself is very good and we really enjoyed it — but honestly, if we come back, it will be mainly because of Cesar’s outstanding service. Thank you, Cesar, for making our stay so special.

My stay at AKA Times Square was truly exceptional — hands down the best hotel experience I’ve ever had. The staff was absolutely incredible. Every single person went above and beyond to be welcoming, helpful, and genuinely kind. Their professionalism and warmth made the stay feel effortless and special from start to finish. The hotel itself is beautiful — modern, clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully designed. Everything felt upscale yet relaxing, which made it the perfect place to unwind after long days in the city. The location could not be better. It’s right in the heart of Times Square, making it easy to see and do everything, yet still felt like a calm retreat. It was an excellent spot for getting downtown and especially perfect for experiencing the New Year’s Eve ball drop without stress. I can’t recommend AKA Times Square enough. Between the outstanding staff, the amazing hotel, and the unbeatable location, this was an unforgettable stay. I wouldn’t hesitate to return — this place truly sets the standard for what a hotel should be.

Amazing week spent here for NYE celebration and we absolutely loved AKA Times Square! Rooms were immaculate, conveniently located with restaurants, shopping, pubs, subway, and obviously right in Times Square. Highlight of our trip is that rockstar at the front desk Kevin! What a delight to have him greet everyone on a dialy basis. Kevin is an absolute legend!

Elevators haven’t worked in 2 days and no resolution in sight. Takes at least an hour to get a manual ride. My wife is a type 1 diabetic and her sugar was low last night, we used the service elevator a few times that day but was denied when it was most needed. The reason being it was being used for “trash” and my situation was not an emergency so she waited for me to bring something to help her sugar levels. I was also denied the stairs being “they are for emergency’s only” while my family was walking down 35 flights. I don’t understand how this isn’t a safety issue with a fire or health situation . No exhaust fans in bathroom, mold in shower and sink.

Great hotel. Great rooms. Very clean. Has a gym. Just a little more expensive than a regular hotel room and we ended up with a 2 bedroom apartment with washer/dryer and kitchen (instead of a 175 sq ft shoebox). We've stayed here 3 times this year and will likely stay here every time we come to NYC. We've stayed here for a few days and we've stayed longer term. Staff is very nice and helpful. I really love this hotel.
