Pleasant stay

Stayed for 5 nights visiting New York as a family. Having no idea how to navigate Manhattan we found the Intercontinental at Times Square a great location for our base. Less than 5 minute walk to Times Square it was easy to get to and from as anyone could find Times Sq. without a map. Also very handy for Port Authority bus station and right in the centre of the theatre district. Hotel was very clean, great beds and a really nice bar with excellent food. Room was a great size with good sized bathroom. Linen changed every day on request and coffee, for machine supplied in room, topped up daily. Decent gym on third floor open 24hrs so managed to use that early every morning straight out of bed. Reception was quick on check in and the lobby had a great welcoming smell when you walked in. Not sure how they did that but suspect something through main vents because it was all over and constant. Only cons were no facility for late departure changing etc. although there is security for your luggage. We were offered a space outside toilets on the floor below the lobby to put our luggage so we could change clothing in the toilets. But awkward as this floor is where corporate events take place and guess what, there was events happening as we were opening cases in a corridor right outside the toilets. Surely a room of sorts could be provided given checkout is 11am and departures leaving late in the evening? We also noticed lots of staff outside main door on street and also lots in the lobby when you came in but very few interacting with guests coming and going, helping with luggage etc. The manager saw us struggling out with luggage when we departed and all of a sudden we had four guys trying to load our luggage into the airport transfer vehicle. I would have expected them, even one of them, to be doing that anyway. It was also evident that the staff lobby side of the entrance had their specific role, although I’m not sure what they were, and rather than work together you could see one guy struggling whilst others stood around just watching. No team effort and management need to address that. Other than that the hotel was pretty good and we would use again if staying in that area.

Lovely hotel

My work booked this hotel for me and after reading reviews I was a bit worried however I'm not sure if people leaving negative reviews even stayed at the same hotel. I arrived an hour and half before check in opened however the gentleman at reception said if I wasn't bothered about the view I could check in straight away which was ideal. Meant I could get showered and changed and not waste any time. The bathroom was well stocked with toiletries and towels. Normally I have to request an extra towel or two but I never needed to request anything here. Staff at hotel at door and in hotel were super friendly. I can't comment on the food as to be honest if you are staying in this area there are 101 food options so why try hotel food. Minibar did trigger an automatic charge as I'd removed a few items to put in a couple of my own drinks however when checking out charges were removed. All in all a great hotel. This was my third trip to New York and I would be happy to stay here again

Long awaited trip

We booked our hotel accommodation Ivan’s flight with BA. Got a very good deal as have been planning this trip for some time. Hotel was very central, very clean, had a bar where you could also get food. We had issues with our mini bar charges, which we didn’t agree with, they didn’t argue and just deducted it off our bill. Breakfast was a ridiculous price, especially when their are local places you can try. Would definitely recommend.

Professional and Friendly Staff - Great Hotel Overall

Hotel location was great - very near Times Square. Arrived early and front desk reception Mr. Francisco was very accommodating - great help in early check-in plus he explained all what the hotel has to offer. Spent 4 comfortable nights in their quiet big rooms and great bed. Francisco also was a big help as he assisted us in our check out today. Thanks to the hotel management and we enjoyed our vacation.
