Great hotel in Great location

Stayed here for a week in a family room in February. we were upgraded at check in to a deluxe room on the 19th floor with a great view overlooking the Hudson and up 8th towards central Park. The hotel is well located, its one block east to Times Sq which is just far enough away and next to Broadway with Frozen and Harry Potter just next door. It has a subway station next door as well. Hotel amenities are good, check in was efficient and you get a $15 dollar a night credit which can be used for hotel services such as dining or laundry. We used room service a few times, they were efficient and chicken tenders were excellent. Room was good sized for a family of 4 with 2 double beds. Bathroom was good size with excellent shower. Only gripe is the electronic mini bar so if you move any items it automatically gets added to the bill (make sure you check bill for this). We used the concierge service to get beat the line tickets for the Empire state building. There are hundreds of places to eat within the area. for us we turned left onto the quieter 9th avenue and the excellent westay diner at the bottom of the block which is very highly rated and well worth breakfast. as already stated from here you can walk to times square in 5 mins, Empire state building in 15 and central park in 20 mins so very well located. Plenty of sirens in the streets all night (but it is new york) but hotel itself was very quiet, despite looking quite full. Would definitely return here again.

We had a five night stay here and everything was perfect. Our room on the 12th floor was spotless, lots of storage for clothes, huge comfy bed and spacious bathroom with great range of toiletries. We had breakfast included and this was fab. Can't recommend this hotel enough!

Resort fee

Stayed here On the 15th of February 2020 for five nights and was shocked when they told us that we have to pay $100 a night which which works out at $500 for a deposit if we damage anything in the room if we use the minibar I was so shocked I refuse to pay it I asked him where is it on their website because it doesn’t state he said once you go on the The website and pay for your dates it calculates at the end not my issue was this I went on Expedia I went onto I went onto TripAdvisor and resort fee was always the same and I’m $42.60 the manager stated that there wasn’t a result fee this is for damages because a lot of people have gone to the hotel eight from the minibar I guess they’ve broken things in the actual room and literally just walked out what state holiday was over eventually we got him down to $300 it was still a shock As I never planned on paying $300 I only planned on paying I think it was around 150 might been blowing up my might have been over but not $500 a night he was not letting us stay in a hotel unless we paid we finally got him down to $300 now I wouldn’t say not stay there because I stay was good but it wasn’t the best of stayed in better hotels there wasn’t any complimentary water in the room they said they don’t do that REALLY? .

Not really a review of the hotel since we never got the room we booked

Not really a review of the hotel since we never got the room we booked. So, we had 2 premium rooms booked for a stay 15-20 Feb. Due to weather, United cancelled the flight from London to Newark. I called the Hotel, spoke to the manager and informed that we would be 24h late. Thus not, I repeat not checking in late in the evening Feb 15, but instead late Feb 16. Around midnight since the plane lands 11.35pm When we arrive the manager has messed up and changed the reservation to 17-20 Feb, leaving us without rooms for 1 night. So, a tired family of 4, after 30+ hours of travel, a cancelled flight and now nowhere to stay. (On top of everything I’m a platinum elite IHG member. I expected them to go above and beyond to solve the problem they created. They didn’t. What I got was a shrug of the shoulders, a bit of blaming personnel not at work at the moment and a recommendation to go across the block to a fleabag hotel. Thanks, but never again! (They did offer to not charge anything for the rooms we never got. As “goodwill”) gee...

Best hotel, with the most amazing staff I've ever met

I was on a business trip for a week. The guys at the reception were so nice. But I have to mention the most helpful and amazing Charles who welcomed me at the door every morning and afternoon with a big smile made my days better. He was a gentleman and helped me a lot even when I had to go back to the hotel on the day I checked out, because I couldn't go to Montréal to visit my sister(after a year) due to the weather conditions. All the buses, trains, flights were cancelled. You can imagine, I was desperate and I cried...a lot. Charles was there and helped me as much as he could. He let me use his phone too. I can't say enough, THANK YOU SO MUCH, I APPRECIATE! The helpfulness, kindness you showed meant a lot to me, and I believe the world should have more people like you! He deserves a promotion and a huge bonus! THANKS AGAIN CHARLES, YOU SAVED MY DAY! :)
