Exceptional location, super clean and really friendly staff. Great for a family of 4 with a 2xQueen room with plenty of space. We were so happy we decided to stay here for 5 nights to explore NY. It’s a 2min walk to the subway, 5min walk to broadway theatres and Times Square, and hundreds of restaurants within a short walk too. We loved the lobby/reception area, which had lots of tables and booths and guests enjoying takeout, BYO drinks and card/board games. Would 100% recommend.

We stayed for one night in an upgraded room with a city view . The room had a neat retro feel to it with plenty of art . The air conditioning seemed to be struggling and sat at 73-75 even though set to 65 . The bed was a comfortable spring with topper bed . The pillows felt like a soft lower density shredded foam but I’m unsure . All of the lights were a dial to turn on and dim . This was a minor frustration to find the switches and turn on / off from the cords . The shower had great water pressure but no temperature control . It was hot or scalding hot only . I was hoping to have a cold shower to cool down from the heat in the room but couldn’t . The shower doors didn’t make sense either , the way they were installed there was no door handle to close from inside and I had to press against the glass to slide it . The other extras were amazing . -Included bike rentals through Central Park up to 2 hours . - umbrella rentals at no cost - bag check for late day pickup at no cost - several others we didn’t use - aluminum bottled water - water with the ice machines The room had a steamer and no iron for our clothes Staff we dealt with were wonderful , extremely friendly and were attentive without making us feel rushed in any way . We came back later in the day to drop off umbrellas and pickup our checked bag . They also personally filled our water bottles with chilled filter water . This was an overall very good hotel experience in a great location . Albeit the heat was not my favourite .

We really enjoyed our stay here. The location is very convenient for walking everywhere. Our room was pretty spacious and the bathroom was gorgeous, and I loved the toiletries included. I see some have complained about the aircon. Admittedly it was a little noisy however nothing to disturb sleep. It was nearly 100 degrees outside when we stayed, and the room stayed a very pleasant temperature (however perhaps people used to living in rooms cooled to ice cold temperatures might struggle.) The design of the hotel is very stylish and the little Corner Store inside is handy. We had breakfast out every day as you’re spoilt for choice in the neighbourhood, so can’t comment on that. Overall, we loved it and will gladly return.

We had a nice stay here. The rooms are comfortable and the staff were helpful. The location is convenient if you don't mind crowded streets. Transportation to all the areas of Manhattan and Brooklyn was really easy from this location. If you come in from Laguardia be sure to check out the Uber Shuttle, it is about $19 per person and has a stop near the hotel.

This was a great hotel for our stay in NYC. It was a nice size room, and the design is nice, aiming for a modern take on 1940s style, although it did feel a bit old in the bathroom and dark in the corridors. We did have a bit of trouble with getting the room cool during a heatwave, and the windows were also in desperate need of a clean. Otherwise, no real issues. The location was perfect, walking distance to Times Square and Central Park, with a subway station right at the door step. There is no real food options here unfortunately, but there is plenty to find outside.

The hotel feels more like a 3-star property overall. While the room itself is fairly spacious, the bathroom is extremely small. The biggest downside is definitely the air conditioning, it barely works and feels more like simple ventilation. At no point did the room get cooler than 23°C / 74°F, which made sleeping at night quite uncomfortable. The windows were unbelievably dirty to the point that they almost looked tinted. That being said, the location is excellent and definitely the hotel’s biggest advantage.

I'm disappointed with my decision to stay at Romer Hotel for my 40th birthday. I increased my budget because it seemed special but the "deluxe" king corner room was dark, dingy and worst of all the service was extremely unfriendly with the exception of one of the doormen (a slender fellow with glasses.) It was standard that no one greeted us at the entrance stand. Even when I tried to make eye contact or greet them. It's also worth noting that to check in early would have been an additional $55 - $75. Because it was my birthday my husband tried to arrange flowers left in the room as a surprise and was met with nothing but difficulty. The staff at first outright refused. When they did finally agree they almost declined the delivery then left it in the room still in the box with a post it note over the card. And of course the staff made no attempt to acknowledge this big 40th birthday milestone in any way. The house cleaning did the bare minimum. Didn't freshen up the bathroom or paper cups. We ordered out and the delivery forgot utensils and no one could or would provide us any utensils. That's pretty crazy for a supposed 4 star hotel. The unique colorful robes in the promotional pictures were missing completely and my room layout in the deluxe corner king varied greatly from the photos. The entire room had one singular vent to serve as AC and the bathroom had no ventilation which was probably why there were moldy spots and paint bubbling up. It took a day for the AC to get going. I chose a larger room but the bathroom was ridiculously small. No coffee maker. My nightstand and lamp never worked and the knot of wires was unpleasant to look at. Overall, I would not stay again. It's the worst feeling to try and treat yourself for it to fall so flat. I love a boutique hotel but this place completely missed the mark. I would have been just as happy in a holiday inn for 2/3rds the price.

Here with two kids - Hell's Kitchen is central enough for them but with a little neighbourhood vibe. Subway really handy 50th street to Court Sq. and change to the Q means Greenpoint is only 20 minutes away. Handy for Central Park, Moma and easy reach to downtown too. Hotel was great; a room for us and a separate room for the kids through an adjoining door gave everyone the space they needed. Simple breakfast was great - would have loved a coffee a little later in the day but dead easy to grab one outside the hotel. Friendly staff, everything clean and modern decor. 10/10 would recommend and return.

Guest service was royal. Joan went above and beyond for our birthday celebration in NYC for my daughter. We are so grateful for her hospitality. The location is excellent, especially for theatre district goers. Room is cozy and perfect for rest in the bustling city. Can't wait to check out the piano bar with live music to finish our night! This is the place to stay in NYC

Perfect hotel, no issues at all! Had a deluxe corner king room and it was the perfect size, friendly and helpful staff, especially helping us with our bags and taxi on the last day! The cleaners were friendly and did a great job too. The location is perfect, a short walk from Central Park and Times Square, a subway station across the road and plenty of places to eat nearby too!
