Frequent Traveler to Times Square

We have stayed at several hotels around Times Square when we've travelled to NYC to see Broadway shows and the Renaissance has been the best, hands down. They accommodated our 4-hour early arrival and upgraded the room so we could have a roll-away bed...both at no extra charge. Their fitness center is excellent and their hotel bar is very nice. On top of that, you get great views of Times Square.

Great New York stay!

Thus was my first New York trip and the hotel was duper nice. All the employees were very cordial and accommodating. This was near everything so we walked to 5th Avenue, Rockefeller center, St.Patrick Cathedral,etc. I highly recommend!!!The views from rooms are outstanding and very spacious.

Poorest service I've ever seen in my life !!!

The staff is absolutely rude and will talk to you like they feel superior. We had some drinks with my friends at the lounge. When we arrived, no "hello", just the waitress shouting at us ''ID PLEASE'' like she was an FBI agent. She never smiled at us once for the whole night, neither being polite. I ordered a cocktail that tasted AWFUL and when I asked to change it (very politely) she shouted at me ''you chose it not me''. Then she came back (a long moment after) rolled her eyes and throw the cocktail on the other side of the table. Honestly the service is better at McDonalds.

New Year Break

Stayed over new year period. Room was average,(slightly tired) however, price wasn't! Whilst I expected and appreciated that we would be paying an increased price for the new year break, I actually think the room was extremely overpriced. Whilst the location was good, it was actually a hinderance on new year eve's trying to battle the crowds again to get in and out of the hotel due to the ball drop. In hindsight I should have thought about this before booking the hotel. Postive note was that whilst we could not actually see the bands playing in time square we could hear them from the hotel room. Breakfast choice was good and bar / lounge area nice and comfortable. Overall, comfortable stay and staff helpful and friendly.

Breakfast (NO OMELETTE or EGGS made to order)

Purchased breakfast with the stay. BonVoy website advertised omelettes and eggs made to order. No omelettes or eggs were available. The scrambled eggs that were part of the buffet were runny and did not taste like eggs. Stayed at the same hotel in 2015. The conditions of the room and the quality of the service is not what I remembered from the first stay. Such a shame because the location and the view from the RLounge is great.
