June 2026: Stayed here for three nights on a business trip. Got a king size bed on the 32nd floor. Access to the MClub lounge was given to me because of my Platinum Bonvoy status. Pros: Room size was large. Gym looked good (although I didn't have time to workout). Location is very close to many subway lines. Cons: Room HVAC did not have good temperature control. Bed comfort level is 3 out of 5. MClub lounge evening food and drink offering was not very interesting. Overall, my stay was okay.

As a Marriott Elite member for more than 45 years, I have remained loyal to the brand because of its reputation for consistency, professionalism, and recognition of its most loyal guests. Unfortunately, my recent experience at the Marriott Marquis did not reflect those standards. My concern is not with the M Club Lounge policy itself, but with the inconsistent manner in which it appeared to be enforced. During my stay, I observed multiple guests being granted access under circumstances that seemed inconsistent with the explanation provided to me by staff. When I raised the issue, the response I received did little to address the obvious discrepancies I had witnessed. This is not about cost or entitlement. It is about fairness, consistency, and the expectation that policies will be applied equally to all guests. Long-time loyalty should not result in having to question whether the rules are being enforced uniformly. Over the course of 45 years, I have stayed at countless Marriott properties and have come to appreciate the high standards that have defined the brand. That is why this experience was particularly disappointing. When policies appear to be selectively enforced, it undermines guest confidence and diminishes the value of elite membership. The Marriott Marquis is an impressive property, but management should take a closer look at how guest-facing policies are communicated and applied. Consistency is one of the foundations of great hospitality, and it is what loyal Marriott guests have come to expect.

The location of this hotel is perfect for those who want to be in the middle of the action. It seems to attract people from all walks of life (business, tourists, etc). My con is that my bathroom could have used a good scrubbing. Although it appeared clean, I hated the feeling of using it. The attention to cleanliness could be improved.

I’ve been going to this hotel since it opened in 1985!! I still love riding the glass elevators to the top floor and back down. I stayed there with my siblings on Labor Day weekend in the summer of ‘24 and the summer of ‘25 and had an awesome time. We had connecting rooms which always makes it more fun! The hotel is right in the middle of Times Square among the hustle and bustle of Manhattan. Super easy to walk to Broadway shows, dine at local long established restaurants like Sardi’s and Carmine’s and course shopping. TKTS is also just steps away for good deals on Broadway shows. Since Times Square is literally the center of everything you’re just a quick subway ride, cab or uber ride uptown to the Museum of Natural History, Central Park, Lincoln Center and more OR downtown to the High Line, SoHo, the Statue of Liberty and so much more. The Marriott Marquis Times Square location is truly an iconic landmark at this point. The location can’t be beat. Lastly, in spite of a bumpy reservation hiccup, the staff made up for it and gave us an incredible room overlooking Times Square. Highly recommended!!!

A mix of good, bad and ugly The Good: the rooms are in great shape and super comfortable. Some of the rooms of have great views of time square too. The house keeping staff is kind and for being in Times Square, the place is surprisingly clean. The rooftop bar is really nice and def is a must if you’re there The bad: as other reviewers mentioned, the elevator situation is an issue. In prime hours, expect it to take at least 5-10 mins to get up or down to your room (each way). As much as a high floor sounds desirable, I couldn’t imagine the wait if you were on a top floor The ugly: I’ve stayed at hundreds of Marriotts. Never once have I had my room downgraded. Triple check and maybe call in advance to make sure they have the room you booked available!!! The staff were able to work it out, which I was grateful for. But the tone was unnecessary aggressive and made me feel like was a complete nuisance. Maybe that’s just a NY thing but she’s truly the only person to have actually offended me on a 4 day trip. The hotel is a solid choice but with the customer service, I would not return unless there was an event there

Excellent location and property. Beautiful rooms and views. Staff were generally helpful and friendly. As some noted, elevators can be a bit frustrating but didn't hold us up much. Location excellent for Broadway shows and shopping! I'm concerned about technology here. We started to wait in line to check out and confirm the daily 40 fee was properly charged and offset by the promised credits, but a service agent would not let us enter the line. We are Marriott elite members and I have never had this happen. He kept saying the hotel needs over 48 hours to process charges and that no receipt would be ready. I told him I'd just review posted charges and he said there would be none yet. Concerned that a hotel of this size can't figure out how to post charges as they are incurred. Makes it seem as if they want you off property so you can't easily handle bill issues. Not a great look. Suggest they focus on technology upgrades that allow them to see current amounts due from guests.

I stayed at the New York Marriott Marquis while attending a conference in the hotel. The location can't be beat, and I had great views from the 43rd floor. The elevators can take a while during the day, but were quick after hours. The view from the Broadway Lounge is fantastic, especially for the Times Square midnight moment. The staff are kind and willing to give time and space for visiting, even after last call. If you want to be in the middle of it all with easy access to subways and lots of walkable restaurants and entertainment, this is a great spot!

The hotel is in a perfect location and made getting around very easy. Our room was good, clean, and we didn’t experience any issues during our stay, which we really appreciated. Eduardo at reception provided excellent service as he was welcoming, professional, and very helpful throughout our stay. He truly made us feel valued as guests. Unfortunately, our experience was negatively affected by one member of staff who was an older senior doorman/porter. When we were trying to locate our taxi, he refused to allow us to seek help from anyone else and was aggressive in his approach. What upset us most was that he later told our situation to people at the valet and laughed about it, which felt very unprofessional and disrespectful. Overall, the hotel itself and most of the staff were great, but this interaction significantly impacted our experience.

We had such a lovely Valentine’s weekend at the New York Marriott Marquis! The location was excellent and we loved being able to walk to so many nearby spots, including the show we came to see. The subway was also just steps away, which made getting around incredibly easy. Check-in and check-out were both quick and seamless, and every employee we encountered was genuinely kind and welcoming. We enjoyed visiting the bar and grabbing coffee from the gift shop a couple of times during our stay. Everything we tried was delicious. The view from our room was absolutely amazing and made the weekend feel even more special. The only small downside is that you do hear typical city noise, like car horns and sirens. However, with the TV on, we were able to sleep comfortably. We would absolutely return and look forward to staying here again!

Great times square views. Rooms were nice parking was $110 a night for an SUV. The M club was a big disappointment as they would only let in 2 of our 3 guests at a time. It was also inferior to all the other Marriott clubs I have been at . The guy at door let some people in over 2 with one card and others he would not. I was not a fan of him at all. The reception check in at elite counter did not have enough staff.
