Located directly in the heart of Times Square, this massive Marriott offers unbeatable convenience for Broadway shows and attractions, but guests frequently mention technological and logistical frustrations regarding elevators, dining service, and bill processing.
Excellent location and property. Beautiful rooms and views. Staff were generally helpful and friendly. As some noted, elevators can be a bit frustrating but didn't hold us up much. Location excellent for Broadway shows and shopping! I'm concerned about technology here. We started to wait in line to check out and confirm the daily 40 fee was properly charged and offset by the promised credits, but a service agent would not let us enter the line. We are Marriott elite members and I have never had this happen. He kept saying the hotel needs over 48 hours to process charges and that no receipt would be ready. I told him I'd just review posted charges and he said there would be none yet. Concerned that a hotel of this size can't figure out how to post charges as they are incurred. Makes it seem as if they want you off property so you can't easily handle bill issues. Not a great look. Suggest they focus on technology upgrades that allow them to see current amounts due from guests.
I stayed at the New York Marriott Marquis while attending a conference in the hotel. The location can't be beat, and I had great views from the 43rd floor. The elevators can take a while during the day, but were quick after hours. The view from the Broadway Lounge is fantastic, especially for the Times Square midnight moment. The staff are kind and willing to give time and space for visiting, even after last call. If you want to be in the middle of it all with easy access to subways and lots of walkable restaurants and entertainment, this is a great spot!
The hotel is in a perfect location and made getting around very easy. Our room was good, clean, and we didn’t experience any issues during our stay, which we really appreciated. Eduardo at reception provided excellent service as he was welcoming, professional, and very helpful throughout our stay. He truly made us feel valued as guests. Unfortunately, our experience was negatively affected by one member of staff who was an older senior doorman/porter. When we were trying to locate our taxi, he refused to allow us to seek help from anyone else and was aggressive in his approach. What upset us most was that he later told our situation to people at the valet and laughed about it, which felt very unprofessional and disrespectful. Overall, the hotel itself and most of the staff were great, but this interaction significantly impacted our experience.
We had such a lovely Valentine’s weekend at the New York Marriott Marquis! The location was excellent and we loved being able to walk to so many nearby spots, including the show we came to see. The subway was also just steps away, which made getting around incredibly easy. Check-in and check-out were both quick and seamless, and every employee we encountered was genuinely kind and welcoming. We enjoyed visiting the bar and grabbing coffee from the gift shop a couple of times during our stay. Everything we tried was delicious. The view from our room was absolutely amazing and made the weekend feel even more special. The only small downside is that you do hear typical city noise, like car horns and sirens. However, with the TV on, we were able to sleep comfortably. We would absolutely return and look forward to staying here again!
Great times square views. Rooms were nice parking was $110 a night for an SUV. The M club was a big disappointment as they would only let in 2 of our 3 guests at a time. It was also inferior to all the other Marriott clubs I have been at . The guy at door let some people in over 2 with one card and others he would not. I was not a fan of him at all. The reception check in at elite counter did not have enough staff.
I had a wonderful experience at the hotel’s gift shop during my stay. It was extremely convenient and well-stocked, making it easy to grab everything I needed without leaving the hotel. The shop was clean, organized, and easy to navigate. The layout made it simple to find items quickly, even during busy hours. The staff was friendly, professional, and efficient at checkout. They answered my questions and made the experience pleasant.
I would like to give special recognition to one of the hotel staff members HARRY for his outstanding service. When I asked about nearby restaurants and directions, he was incredibly patient and knowledgeable. He took the time to look up locations on Google Maps, explained everything clearly, and made sure I felt confident navigating the area. This level of professionalism and genuine care truly made my stay more enjoyable. I greatly appreciate the help and will definitely choose to stay at this hotel again in the future. Please making sure HARRY knows he did a great job on customer service.
This hotel is a massive structure with nearly 2000 rooms. It took over 4 hours at check-in for us to get our room! We were not alone; during our stay we would see many guest with their luggage sitting on the lobby “benches” waiting for their room. I had to resort to grabbing a “manager” and pleading with him to expedite our room assignment which he finally did. At every encounter with the reception staff we were told the hotel is so big that it’s not easy to handle everything! They were obviously overwhelmed themselves and their attitude toward the guest showed. If you can’t handle it then hire more people! The hotel of this size had only one main venue to have breakfast. We gave up after the first morning waiting to be seated for about an hour. As for the location, yes it is Time Square but it is super crowded and would not certainly come back here. The room was of average size with modern bathroom. One standout was the housekeeping which was always attentive and helpful. I will certainly pick a different property next time.
If you want to be just off Broadway close to where all the action is, this is a great hotel to stay. Bed and bedding very comfortable. No coffee machine in the bedroom. The food on the eighth floor is marginal and expect long lineups. The View, is the lounge on the 28th floor and is worth a visit. Service was great! Great place to be after a long day. If you want to dine on the 27th floor, make sure you make reservations in advance. Unfortunately, the Internet didn’t work on the second night. Too tired to check the reason. This is our second visit to the Marriott and it didn’t disappoint.
We’ve stayed here a few times now. The location is great if you’re coming to NYC for broadway shows. The rooms are comfortable and clean. For families the two queen rooms have a sofa that works nicely for a kid. Just ask for sheets and blankets. I solve the no complimentary water in the room with a trip to the nearby Walgreens. It does baffle me why they can’t stock some bottles of water in the rooms. It’s really not an expensive amenity. The thing that has me questioning where I’ll say next time is the elevator situation. They have a large bank of elevators and they’re even divided into groups for the lower and upper floors. It works off a room key system, so you swipe your key and it’ll tell you which elevator you should go wait for. The problem is it’s all seemingly chaotic. You can get an empty elevator in 1 minute or wait 15 minutes and be on a packed elevator. During that wait, no other elevators will arrive or depart. This includes the ground lobby and 8th floor hotel lobby. You’ll feel like one elevator is running at a time. We’ve all been to hotels with the ‘push a button and wait’ protocol and that old method seems to work far better. I don’t know if some elevators aren’t working, the programming is poor or what…but it’s not a highlight of the hotel.
