The Muse New York offers a prime location in Times Square, combining convenience and proximity to Broadway and public transportation. While praised for its location, service, and clean rooms, concerns have been raised about inconsistent room quality, issues with amenities (like water and Wi-Fi), and occasionally, staff attitude. Recent reviews consistently highlight the helpfulness of certain staff members but also reveal recurring problems with room maintenance and unexpected charges.

Everyone at the front desk has been so nice. The location is super convenient and right off Times Square. All the train lines are all really close which makes getting around the city a breeze. There are a ton of shops nearby and it's easy to walk from here to MoMA and central park. Super close to all the broadway theaters too. I saw Buena Vista Social club and it was only a 5 minute walk away! There's a jazz club downstairs called the Pocket with live music and really good food. The wings and chess pie were amazing!! I would honestly go back just for the wings. They make a great old fashioned too. Mingus Big Band was performing when I went and the music was incredible! It was a great place to spend the evening and hear some world class music after a day walking around the city. Overall I highly recommend it!!

Enjoyed our stay at the Muse. The executive King room was fire! Large room, great amenities. Perfect location for walking or taking subway around the city. Noise level was pretty good for being in the city. We didn’t eat or drink here because of all the nearby restaurant/bar options. No complaints.

I stayed at The Muse New York, and sure—let’s start with the highlights. The location is fantastic. The staff is polite and friendly, just like you’d hope. Great. Now that we’ve covered the entire list of positives… For $350 a night (times two rooms), you’d think the basics would be handled. You know—radical luxuries like drinking water. Instead, the hotel offers a bold, avant-garde concept: an empty jug in your room and a mini fitness routine where you get to hunt for water on another floor. Hydration meets cardio. Innovative. Cleanliness? Optional, apparently. My shower came with complimentary hairs stuck to the wall—souvenirs from a previous guest. They stayed there for three days, despite multiple requests to clean them. At that point, I started wondering if they were part of the decor. The AC unit deserves its own review. Imagine trying to sleep next to a tractor that randomly decides when it feels like working. On, off, on, off—no rhythm, no logic, just chaos. If you’re a light sleeper, congratulations: you won’t be sleeping. And breakfast—ah yes. A croissant and a coffee for the price of a decent meal elsewhere. Calling it “breakfast” feels generous. Calling it embarrassing feels accurate. So yes, amazing location. Decent room size. Everything else? A masterclass in how to charge premium prices for subpar execution. Not recommended—unless you enjoy paying extra for inconvenience.

My husband and I recently stayed at The Muse Hotel for a short getaway near Times Square. The location was excellent, and the view was truly beautiful. Daniel at the front desk provided outstanding service. We were initially not satisfied with our assigned room, but he handled the situation professionally and ensured we were moved to a more comfortable room. He also went above and beyond by offering my husband and me complimentary drinks in celebration of our birthdays, which we truly appreciated. Eduardo at the bar was also exceptional—very kind, welcoming, and attentive. I would rate his service 10/10. He prepared excellent drinks and contributed to a very pleasant experience. Overall, the staff throughout the hotel were friendly, accommodating, and professional, which made a positive impression on us. However, the room itself did not fully meet expectations. The room we paid for did not match what we received initially, and one of the bathroom lights was not functioning. Additionally, basic amenities such as bottled water were not provided in the room, which was disappointing for the price point. The door key also had issues and gave us trouble almost every time we stepped out, which became a bit annoying during our stay. While the service and location were strong highlights, the room experience did not fully reflect the value we expected.

I had a wonderful stay at The Muse Hotel New York. The hotel is beautiful, clean, and very well-maintained. From the moment I arrived, the staff was warm, professional, and genuinely welcoming, which made me feel comfortable right away. One thing I especially appreciated is the location. The hotel is right near Times Square, yet the atmosphere inside is calm and surprisingly quiet, which made my stay even more relaxing. The room was spacious, and the bed was extremely comfortable. I slept very well. Everything felt cozy and well-organized. I genuinely enjoyed my experience and would absolutely recommend The Muse Hotel New York to anyone visiting the city. I would gladly stay here again.

A special thank-you to Barbara at the front desk/concierge — she is an absolute gem who made sure we were completely taken care of. Even though we had many questions, she was always welcoming and patient, helped us with all the last-minute details, and even left a thoughtful welcome letter wishing my daughter Mimi a happy 18th birthday. As someone who has career in traveling and the hospitality industry, I truly appreciate this level of exceptional service. They truly went above and beyond to make her birthday so special. I hope this message reaches her management team so she receives the recognition she deserves for her amazing hospitality. ?

Just had such a great stay here. The check in process was quick and easy. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly. We opted to do an upgrade and ended up in a King suite. The room was HUGE! The bathroom was beautiful with double sinks and a nice big shower. Everything was spotless. Had coffees which were delicious! Location was very convenient, close walk from Penn, and quick to Broadway/Times Square. Would recommend to anyone!

The hotel is great location, 2 mins walk from times square but far enough into the street to be away from the busy crowds. Housekeeping was very attentive and kept the room spotless. Basic amenities', don't expect water bottles or anything extra. Filtered water taps available at the lobby for DIY. I would suggest for the room update, I stayed in the executive type rooms. Lobby was good, door people attentive upon arrival, reception no faults. We requests our 2 rooms close to each other, and our request was accommodated. Couldn't fault our 9 night stay, not once did we have a compliant to share.

The room was very small. No big deal. My friend and I went for the weekend. However the rooms had no coffee makers, or any way of getting hot water for tea. The wifi wouldn't work on the tv when we tried it. Wasn't super important to have but was annoying when we tried to watch a show. The location was absolutely perfect right in the heart of Manhattan. Was easy access to great food near by and excellent for walking to all the places we planned to go. It was also quiet for where it is located which was really nice. It would be great if the showers had ventilation. Overall a decent stay but not excellent for being a 4 star hotel.

Unfortunately, The Muse Hotel is not a place I would recommend due to an extremely unprofessional experience with their evening shift front desk receptionist, DANIEL (older white male) On 1/15/2026, my family and I were treated with clear disrespect during check-in. We had been waiting in the lobby for nearly an hour, and at 2:59 PM, Daniel informed us—while laughing—that our room was not ready because check-in was technically at 3:00 PM. When I pointed out that it was literally one minute away, he responded sarcastically and asked why I couldn’t tell he was joking. That kind of sarcasm toward paying guests is completely inappropriate, especially for a room costing $400 per night. Throughout the interaction, Daniel made multiple snide remarks, including commenting that we looked tired and irritated and referring to my brother as “buddy.” His tone and behavior made my family feel uncomfortable and disrespected, and frankly, discriminated against. Rather than being welcoming, he appeared to be on a power trip and lacked even basic customer service skills. It was obvious this behavior wasn’t accidental—it was deliberate and dismissive. It’s truly disappointing because the rest of the staff did the exact opposite. Angel, who checked us out, was professional, kind, and respectful, and the valet staff were also excellent. Their service highlighted just how unacceptable Daniel’s behavior was. Bottom line: one employee should not be allowed to ruin the entire guest experience. If management wants this hotel to thrive, corrective action needs to be taken immediately. As it stands, I will not be staying here again, nor would I recommend this hotel unless serious changes are made.
