Strategically located near Times Square, this modern hotel offers spacious, clean rooms and comfortable beds, making it ideal for sightseeing. The rooftop bar offers stunning city views, though reviews highlight inconsistent room maintenance and outdated fixtures.
Had a great stay at Hyatt Centric Times Square. The room was quite spacious for NYC standards, very clean, and comfortable. The location is excellent — just a short walk to Times Square, making it easy to get around. Special thanks to Dyana, who assisted us from check-in until check-out. She was incredibly helpful, warm, and attentive, truly making our stay even more enjoyable. Would definitely stay here again and recommend it to anyone visiting New York City.
I have visited NYC often and this was my first stay at this Hyatt Centric Midtown/Times Square hotel (7 nights). I cannot say enough good things about the Hyatt Centric Midtown/Times Square and plan to stay at this hotel on all future visits. The hotel is strategically located to not only key NYC tourist spots, but it is within walking distance to shopping, restaurants, subway transport, grocery stores (Whole Foods, etc.), convenience stores, etc. Everything! If you want coffee, there are two coffee shops across the street, and an eatery a few doors down. The hotel rooms are well maintained and the housekeeping staff is top notch. I have a high bar when it comes to hotel cleanliness and this hotel is invested in creating a comfortable experience for their guests. It shows that the hotel leadership is training their staff and paying attention to details. The hotel amenities such as the gym and rooftop bar are very good. While there is no room service, the NYC food delivery is exceptional. Any food you want 24/7 is available. The front desk service is exceptional. Well-staffed, courteous and welcoming. There is security person near the hotel elevators to ensure only guests are roaming around, and the elevator requires a key card. Only one minor complaint, the cafe adjacent to the hotel is overpriced and the food options are limited. Moreover, the service there is subpar - zero focus on customer service. Doesn't matter, since there are so many options so you really do not need the cafe. Great hotel - can't go wrong.
Amazing Stay from Start to Finish. I stayed here for my birthday and it was honestly perfect. The room was spacious, clean, and comfortable. Location couldn’t be any better. The view alone is worth booking! But what really made my stay unforgettable was Dede at the front desk. She was kind, attentive, and genuinely made an effort to make my birthday special. That level of care means so much. Thank you for such a beautiful experience. Can’t wait to return!
One of the best hotels I’ve ever stayed at. We were there for an engagement ceremony, and the entire experience was exceptional. The staff were warm, friendly, and welcoming. The bellman kindly assisted us both when arriving and leaving, especially with our luggage and flowers. At reception, the team was very accommodating. Once I mentioned we were there for an engagement ceremony, they thoughtfully offered to show me the room before check-in to make sure it was the hallway I was hoping for — a detail I truly appreciated. The stay itself was wonderful: great room service, an excellent location, and easy access to some of the best that NYC has to offer. I only wish we could have stayed longer. Good job!
I was dissapointed in my stay here. I booked through Amex travel partially because they offered 12pm check in when available. I arrived at 1pm and our room was not ready. Not taking off points for this because I know it is only "when available". However our room was not ready until 5pm, a full hour later than standard check-in. The more significant issue is we received a note that our hot water and heat would be out 11pm-6am one day. Not a huge deal, except there was still no hot water when I tried to shower at 9:30am. I went down to the front desk to inquire and was told that they expected it back around 2pm. I came back around 6pm and again the water was still only lukewarm. All around the customer service was off. Twice I went to the cafe and there was no one working there. When I asked about the issue with the hot water, they offered no apology (let alone some kind of discount). The general vibe of people at the front desk and cafe were not very friendly. The exception is the servers at the rooftop bar, who were great. The room was also very clean, spacious, and quiet. It's a fine hotel, it just did not have the quality I expected based on the price.
As a regular Hyatt member, I was extremely pleased with the quality and service of the hotel. Check in, the staff was very courteous and friendly - valet, security, front desk, etc. The room was clean, stylish, and modern. Equipped with a safe and mini-fridge. Bathroom is updated with a rain shower and cozy color scheme. Location is great! Within walking distance to restaurants, shows, and Times Square sites. Relatively quiet, did not hear any street noise or traffic. Overall, a very nice Hyatt brand hotel. Will definitely visit/book again.
I frequently traveled to NYC for work and had the opportunity to stay at various hotels around Times Square, but the Hyatt Centric Times Square truly stood out. From the moment I walked in, I was impressed by the spacious room that easily accommodated two large suitcases. The modern, pristine bathroom added a touch of luxury to my stay. Our room was on the 50th floor, and the incredible view of the city skyline was simply breathtaking! I wholeheartedly recommend this hotel to any business traveler looking for comfort and convenience in the heart of New York City.
We booked the Hyatt Centric Times Square for New Year's Eve for its location and our desire to fully experience New York City during the world's largest celebration. The unfortunate reality is that our stay became a complete disaster due to the police barricades set up at both ends of our street. The hotel staff required that all guests check in at the front desk on 12/31 to receive a wristband and a letter from the hotel confirming our registration. We were told multiple times that there would be no issues with regaining access to our hotel on the evening of 12/31 as long as we had our wristbands and showed the hotel letter to the police. That was not the case. At 11 pm, my husband and I wanted to return to the hotel to ring in the New Year in our room and watch the festivities from our hotel. We were abruptly stopped at the barricades and denied access to our hotel. The rude officers (about 20 of them) told us that at 10:50 pm, the street would be closed and would not reopen until after 1 am. At this point, there must have been over 20 hotel guests trying to gain access who were denied. My husband called the hotel multiple times but couldn't get through. The police stated that the hotel staff were made aware of the street closure and should have told all hotel guests. Finally, at 1 am, we were able to get through to the front desk and informed the staff what was happening. We were not allowed access to our hotel until after 1:30 am, standing in 20-degree weather. The hotel staff blamed the police, and the police blamed the hotel staff. Not one hotel staff member seemed empathetic to the situation. I've emailed the general manager, Tom Blundell, who has yet to respond either. Additionally, we are Hyatt Globalists, which is supposed to come with perks based on the amount of spend we make with our Hyatt credit card. I have never been so disappointed with a situation. This was also my birthday, so the fact that we couldn't enjoy our champagne as we rang in the new year in our room is a huge black eye for the Hyatt Centric Times Square. Shame on this staff for not doing a better job. No apologies, just a lot of people trying to place blame on everyone else. The guest experience was overlooked entirely. I plan to reach out to the executive staff to share our experience. My recommendation is if you are looking for a hotel on NYE in NYC, DO NOT BOOK THE HYATT CENTRIC TIMES SQUARE!!!
Our experience at Hyatt Centric was outstanding from start to finish. The team was very accommodating and genuinely attentive throughout our stay, making everything smooth and stress-free. From check-in to daily service, the staff went out of their way to ensure we were comfortable and well taken care of. The location is unbeatable, the rooms are well maintained, and the overall atmosphere is welcoming and professional. Traveling with family, this level of service really makes a difference. Highly recommended—we would absolutely stay here again.
Have to say our experience was excellent! We got in last week and Eva made our stay so great! We had had some hiccups during the day with our and she was awesome. She picked out a great room for us and just went above and beyond the entire stay and she was so pleasant doing it all! She really made the whole visit enjoyable. In addition, John from Angels Envy in the lobby one night promoting Angels Envy was AWESOME! Thank you for a terrific stay!
