This hotel is strategically located just steps from Times Square, with most guests praising the prime accessibility to major attractions and transport hubs, though they generally expect dated interiors and tight accommodations typical of older Midtown buildings.
I admit I was quite hesitant about staying at the Paramount Hotel in Times Square because of the reviews and many people saying how it isn't safe to stay in the area. But I'm genuinely happy I did anyway and would 10000% stay in this hotel again. The location is PERFECT. Literally one minute up the road and you're already in the heart of Times Square with so many places to eat, shop and there's also a 7-Eleven around the corner for anything you might need. We were booked in for 5 nights initially but we ended up staying an additional 2 nights because our flight was cancelled. The staff were extremely accommodating and friendly. A HUGE thank you and special mention to ARIEL, who went above and beyond to ensure we were well looked after during this stressful time. We had two family rooms booked (409 and 1525) which did differ in size. One was much bigger than the other but in all honesty, we didn't mind it AT ALL, especially as we were predominantly out during the day. Regardless, the beds were super comfy, rooms cleaned everyday and where it was absolutely freezing in New York at the time we went, it was always nice and warm in the room. It served its purpose for us. One thing I think is worth mentioning, which I know some people wouldn't like, is the breakfast is a grab-and-go option - one drink and a warm croissant (plain or ham/egg and cheese options) or granola. For us, this worked well as we took our food out but you could also sit in the restaurant if you liked, but can get quite busy around 8-10am. It just isn't a "full" breakfast. Each to their own but it wasn't a problem for us. Overall, super super happy to have stayed here and if ever we're in New York again, this will be our first pick!
Such a great stay at Paramount Times Square! The staff was incredibly kind and welcoming from start to finish, which made everything feel so easy and enjoyable. The room was very clean, comfortable, and well-kept, and you truly can’t beat the location. Right in the heart of Times Square with everything just steps away. Short, sweet, and exactly what you want for an NYC stay!
We recently stayed at this hotel, which is in a very good location, which was definitely a major advantage. For sightseeing, it was very convenient. The hotel itself is large, and the reception area is lovely, modern, and trendy. First impressions were great. However, unfortunately, the rooms did not match the vibe of the lobby. Our room was particularly small, although it did have a large bathroom attached. The room itself felt quite dated and in need of refurbishment. The carpet was dirty with visible stains, paint was peeling off the walls, and there was mould growing underneath the clear sealant around the bath. However the housekeeping staff were lovely, and did a good job of tidying the hotel. Also came into a slight issue with our bathroom light going off, told reception and it was fixed right away. We stayed on the 17th floor and didn’t hear much hallway noise, which was good. However, outside noise from Times Square was still quite loud, especially at night, which is something we expected. It’s also worth noting that if you are visiting as a tourist, you will need to pay city tax, and there is an additional charge if you want the hotel to store your suitcases after checkout while you explore before your flight. Overall, the location is fantastic, the lobby is impressive and staff were friendly and helpful, but the rooms would benefit greatly from updating and better maintenance.
Genuinely enjoyed our stay here and will stay again. The lobby is really quiet unique and always was busy and bustling exactly how we expect a NY place to be, staff were very kind and helpful, when our flight home got changed they offered us complementary late check out at noon, which was amazing! The elevators were FAST and clean. Loads of reviews mentioned the washrooms and general look, I think just reviews need to put into account the age of the building, the sign in the lobby says the building is nearly 100 years so of course its gonna be aged a bit. The washrooms would be nice to have a counter but that's being a bit picky IMO as I understand that furniture and fixtures cant be changed, the tub also could do with re-grounting in spots. Note: The doors are heavy, push hard (like really hard) in order to get the door open, we had to ask staff what we were doing wrong.
Just came back from a 5 day trip. We stayed here. We had no concerns. The room was lovely. Cleaned every day. The heating system was a little noisy, but nothing we couldn't cope with. We had no problems with waiting for or using the lifts. The staff were all very lovely and helpful. Our check in time wasn't until 4pm but we had arrived early and Natalie was very helpful in finding a room for us right away. The hotel is in a great location and central to everything we needed. The lobby and bar were beautiful and nicely decorated too for valentines day. We made use of the perfect little gym they have on the 2nd floor at no extra cost. We had to be checked out for 11am, although we had a late flight this wasn't a problem as the hotel held our bags for $3 per bag, so this was helpful. We had an amazing time and an amazing stay at this hotel. Thankyou ??
Rooms a quite small, however housekeeping are amazing at their job, always making sure everything is clean and tidy. The location is perfect (1 minute walk to time square) and the service provided is amazing too. We had Natalie checking us in who was able to provide an early check in for us as she could see we were shattered from the travelling! The service we received was a credit to the hotel!
Great location cant get any closer to times square, rooms are slightly small but bed is absolutely comfortable. Our room was quite cold, windows weren't keeping the cold out and or the heating wasn't working. We used blankets provided to place on the windows which helped. Bathroom is outdated needs to be updated. Staff at reception were nice Staff that clean the rooms were amazing. No security at all which was slightly concerning as most hotels have security. Lobby was funky, great entertainment on at night, prices for drinks weren't bad, coffee shop was handy too. Lifts were quick up and down but slightly small so sometimes there was a wait. Overall great hotel, location spot on. Would stay again.
I was really apprehensive about staying here after reading the more recent reviews in the run up to my holiday but I'm glad we didnt change. There was a lot of comments about rude hotel staff and queues for reception/lifts .. we did not experience a queue once, even on check in and the staff were nothing but warm and welcoming to us! The rooms are a bit dated (air con was quite noisy!) and could do with a more thorough hoovering in some spots but for the most part the bed and bathroom were clean and comfortable. The location next to times square is fantastic and so central for popping in and out in between activities. One thing I would note though is that if using Google maps on your phone the buildings can interfere and we did miss our street when trying to find the hotel in the first instance but all in I would definitely stay here again.
Great location, comfy beds, decent bathroom. Me and my gf loved stayed here. There's a few suggestions. Add a mini fridge and microwave to ALL rooms. People vacationing like late meals please pick up on this clue lots in the lobby talked bout it. Other wise very nice cafe and pizza joint next stoor. Very close to theaters which was very clutch. The hotel shouldn't charge to hold your bags the day of leaving. I have traveled all over the country and this is the first hearing of such thing. Over all nice hotel and staff though.
When I checked in, I overheard another guest asking the front desk whether the hot water was working after being broken that morning, and I got that sinking feeling that this wasn't going to be a great experience. It was not a great experience. I stayed two nights, and there was no hot water on either of the mornings while I was there. It was working by the evening, indicating that their system was failing when it was needed most, namely the mornings when everyone wants a hot shower, especially in the middle of a December cold snap. I stayed in the cheapest room with a single king-size bed. The condition of the room ranged from adequate to kind of gross, and the overall impression was that it was renovated sometime in the past 10 years, but mostly that consisted of a generous coat of paint on most surfaces and some new furniture. The bed was a little saggy and the sheets were not luxurious--adequate. The heat worked, but it was pretty loud when running, which was good because it helped mask the noise that easily penetrates the seemingly paper-thin walls. The bathtub was pretty grungy and the paint was flaking off of it. The sink was kind of falling apart and a little rusty in places. One of the elevators also seemed to be out of commission and the remaining three seemed to tied to a roulette-like game system--where it stops, nobody knows... Luckilly, I was only on the 4th floor so I could take the stairs to get out of the hotel quickly. The lobby seemed really cool and they did have live music performances every night, so that was pretty cool. If you're going to see some shows, you can't beat the location. But, it's not a really comfortable stay and the downsides could really be a deal breaker for many.
