This Marriott property offers unbeatable Times Square and Broadway accessibility, but guest experiences are highly inconsistent. While many praise the helpful staff, numerous recent reviews report severe cleanliness issues, unresponsive maintenance, and room sizes much smaller than depicted.
Good Points: * Mustapha (I think that was he's name) was so helpful and got us a new room straight away after our first one was awful! * The beer tasting was nice. * Amazing location if you want to stay here quickly. Bad Points: * Our bathroom was not cleaned there was public hair and piss on the toilet seat ?, they got a cleaner fast though! *Bed was not comfortable and a bit dirty again. *Breakfast was so bad! ? only nice thing was the orange juice. It's okay but wouldn't stay here again.
The location is great. The rooms are quite small. Our first night here our air conditioning did not work and they moved us to another room. The air conditioning in that room also did not work. We were exhausted so we simply opened the window to cool off the room. To be fair they did try to get the air conditioning working in the first room. And they were happy to move us to the second room. Once we noticed the second room's air conditioning wasn't working we were simply exhausted and wanted to go to bed. It was February and freezing outside so opening the window was very effective in bringing the temperature down(from 75 degrees)in the room. The next morning after breakfast the air conditioning suddenly started working. Breakfast was very good but the room gets very full. Get there early or you may not get a seat. Everyone that we encountered was very friendly.
The location of your hotel and the kind welcome drinks at check-in were truly appreciated. However, unfortunately, we had a very unpleasant experience with one of your front desk staff. Despite having made a request in advance through Bonvoy app and although the room was available, we were told we could not check in before the official time Rooms extremely small less than 1ft between wall and bed and side window. Beds were very comfortable. There was no storage area for clothing or luggage. Small bathroom- toilet is right behind the door so you have to squeeze in and around the door before you can sit down Shower- Only happened 1-2x, but it took a good 5 minutes for the shower to run hot water Breakfast area was a bit small and cramped. The selection was good. The coffee was cold on day 1 and 2 . The staff could not understand simple English
What a gem of a place. I picked it due to the proximity to Radio City Music Hall. From the moment I walked in, it was nice & clean. The receptionist was fantastic. I wish I could remember her name because she deserves to be praised. It started with a D, she had lovely dark, curly hair & fashionable black framed glasses. We had a little time to kill so went to the bar where David greeted us. What a great young man. Good conversation, gave us recommendations on where to eat, was kind enough to tell us a little bit about himself. Honestly, every employee we talked to was kind & helpful. Good job SpringHill for hiring such great staff. The room was a bit small but that’s not unusual for NYC. I do wish there was just a bit more room to the bathroom. Otherwise, the pillows & bed were comfortable, towels were soft enough & the toiletries were decent quality. Overall, great place, great staff! I will absolutely stay here again.
Andrew was wonderful! Very helpful whenever we were at the lobby! Also very lovely front desk staff! The room was fine - felt stuffy in there the temperature control always reverted back to 72 no matter what we did. The shower head would randomly start to drip very loudly even if no one had just used it. But we couldn’t beat the location of the hotel, so bedside some of the oddities it was a pretty good stay. Thanks
I went to New York to go to Broadway shows. This hotel is located right in the heart of the theater district, making it ultra convenient. I never had to walk more than 2 streets to get to a show. It’s directly across from the Marriott Marquis, and half an Avenue away from Times Square. The room wasn’t large, but it was a decent size for New York. The shower was a full ‘tub’ length, so very spacious. I loved that it offers free breakfast, and has a refrigerator and microwave in the room. My flight home got cancelled due to weather, and the front desk extended my stay for another night. Very helpful. I will definitely stay here again on my next visit to NYC.
Great location just steps from Times Square. Great complimentary breakfast, with cereals, fresh fruit, yogurt, and quite a few hot options. Room was a little small, but that was expected, and they did a great job making the space efficient. Couldn't hear the street from the room and the hallway was quiet. The front desk and other staff was helpful and polite and available. A great option, especially for the price.
Not in Line With the Marriott Brand I stayed on the 20th floor (Room 2008), and this hotel is nowhere near Marriott standards. The only real advantage is that it’s close to Times Square and that’s it. I was in New York on business, and the experience was so poor that I checked out a full day early and booked a room elsewhere. The air quality throughout the building is bad. The front desk staff is the worst I’ve encountered in years: unfriendly, rude, and completely unwelcoming. I travel between Marriott and Hyatt over 165 nights a year, and this was the most unprofessional front desk team I’ve dealt with in the last 3 years. The lobby bar was open once during my stay. Every simple ask turned into a project. The shower doors won’t stay closed, so water leaks everywhere. The elevators smell heavily of grease and clearly need to be serviced or cleaned. They have the most obnoxious air freshener plugged in to the wall in the lobby area that smells obnoxious! The only positive in the entire property is the housekeeping team. They were exceptional, friendly, and frankly more qualified to work the front desk than the current entire staff. This is not a property I can recommend. Spend your money or even a few extra dollars at a hotel that actually reflects the Marriott brand. With over 450 nights on the road in the past 3 years I know a great stay , I would give this three-day stay zero stars if that were possible. I warned you.
What a great location!! The people there were so friendly and kind. They went out of their way to make this a wonderful experience. The room was very small (to be expected) but only 50 yards from Times Square and it was very clean. The room cleaners were great. The free breakfast was the best I've seen in any Marriott. If you want the Times Square experience and on a budget - this is the place!!! So close to all the theaters as well!
Abdul was great to us when we needed a room change. The corner rooms are much to cramped for two people. Once we moved to room 1805 it was a great stay. The staff really wanted to make us feel comfortable and welcomed. The location can not be beat! Literally surrounded by theaters. We would stay here again.
